Location: Intersection of US 40 and Hwy 14 on Leg 31 Runner Crossing
Directions:
You will need to stop by Exchange 30 to pick up your equipment
From Denver: go west on I-70 to Silverthorne. Go north on Hwy 9 to Kremmling. Take US 40 North west to the intersection of Hwy 14.
From Fort Collins: go west on Hwy 14 up Poudre Canyon over Cameron Pass to Walden. Then:
From Laramie: Go south on Hwy 230 for 27.7 miles to the intersection of Hwy 10 to Woods Landing. From Woods Landing: go south on Hwy 230 to Walden. Then:
From Walden: go west on Hwy 14 towards Steamboat Springs to the intersection of US 40, you will pass Exch 30 on your way to the intersection, it will be on the right hand side of the road 2.4 miles BEFORE the intersection.
From Steamboat Springs: Take US 40 east over Rabbit Ears Pass to the intersection of Hwy 14. Then go east of Hwy 14 2.4 miles to Exchange 30 to pick up your equipment, then return to the intersection.
Volunteer Parking: Park in the dirt pullout area on the southwest corner of the intersection

Runner Monitor - up to 3; assist with the safe crossing of the runners across US 40. R1 will instruct runner to go to R2 and to wait until R2 gives clearance to cross. R2 will hold runner until it is safe for runner to cross US 40. Speed limit is 55 MPH so make sure it is clear in both directions. R3, if available, stands across US 40 opposite R2 to help communicate when it is clear to cross.
***Note any runner who does not follow your directions and report to the Race Director as their team will be disqualified - this is a safety issue.***
Exchange Notes:
Please go to Exchange 30 to pick up your supplies and to use facilities. Exchange 30 is 2.5 miles east on Hwy 14.
ALL VOLUNTEERS:
* For safety and insurance reasons, the wearing of headphones or ear buds (iPods) by active runners is prohibited and will cause the entire team to be disqualified. Make a note on the Exchange Time Sheet of any violations.
* Keeping the exchange clean of trash, and if at night, making sure runners keep the noise down - music off in vans, no shouting/cheering, no slamming of van doors
* If any teams do not follow your instructions, make a note with an explanation of the Exchange Time Sheet.
* Make sure runners stay off to the side of the road to prevent conflicts with active traffic.
If you need restroom facilities, please leave the exchange one at a time. There are portable toilets at Exchanges 30 (2.5miles east of Hwy 14) and 31(3.2 miles west on US 40).
